60 Second Timer:
Overview-
We had to create a circuit that would count from 0 to 60 at the push of a button and then reset to 0 using multisim and our previous knowledge of counting with flip flops.
PLD Circuit-
This project had many similar characteristics as other projects we have done in the past. Both this project and the deli counter project had to count from 0 to a number and be able to reset at 0. The birthday, phone number, and deli counter project had to show a certain sequence of numbers and most of the projects have used two linked flip flop circuits as a counter. This project was also done in PLD mode while some of the earlier projects were just constructed on a breadboard.
Conclusion-
In synchronous counters all the flip flops are clocked simultaneously, while in asynchronous counters the output of the first flip flop clocks the next flip flop. 193 counters must have an input one greater than what they will start counting at and can count up or down.
The 163 counters have the same input as you want to count and can only count up.
Yes my classmates have many variations in there reset switch and connection of the two counters
