Part E.) Application of STEM Principles and Practices
1.) Science & Engineering Concepts we Investigated-
For this project we need to research the design of an earbud speaker, research earbud ergonomics, research how to send/ receive signal through a phone auxiliary port, how an audio jack works, how to wire head buds, how to mold silicon, how to solder, how to prevent tangle, safety regulations for headphones.

2.) Brief Description of Prototype Stage-
Over the next couple of weeks we will begin to design our prototype. The prototype will be a set of self-constructed headphones that are engineered to reduce or prevent tangling. Once we produce our working prototype we will test the product on certain design constraints such as production ability, sound quality, tangling ability, headphone durability, and cost of production. Using these constraints as well as feedback from classmates, and mentors we will ultimately produce our final design.

3.) Letter to Adviser / Mentor-
Hello Mr. Habeger!
(sorry if we butchered your name)
We are currently in the EDD portion of our engineering program here at Worcester Tech and are tasked with defining a problem and solving it. We chose to take on the task of designing headphones that do not tangle at all. We would appreciate your help throughout our project, specifically the design portion. We were given your name by our teacher, Mrs. Valerie (Ziglejeva) Zienty. We would love to work with a former engineer, especially someone with as much experience as you!
Sincerely,
Patrick Devenny
Dryden Brous
Jacob Darlington

4.) Software, Technology, & Equipment-
There are many things that we need to actually construct to be able to make a working prototype. One of those being the speaker to headphone. To make this we will need to purchase equipment to make it. But along with the speaker assembly itself, we will need to wire it to the headphone cord. That will require us learning how to wire things. We will also need to purchase a silicon material to wrap around the wires. And lastly we will need to purchase an auxiliary plug compatible with AUX inputs on many mobile devices. While doing all of this we will need to make the design as safe and durable as possible.
