Part K.) Reflection on the Design Project
1.)Patrick Devenny Reflection- Over the course of the semester we created our engineering capstone project, looking back on this project I would change quite a bit. From the beginning i was confident in my team members. They both are very hard workers and never let me down. They helped keep the team on course while making progress to our final goal. When it comes to our problem, I wish we had chose a different one. Anti-tangling headphones is certainly a great idea, but very difficult to accomplish without the proper audio knowledge and resources. We wasted some time trying to figure out how to wire speakers for our creation of headphones but eventually abandoned that idea due to time constraints and lack of quality. We shouldn't have tried creating our own headphones, we spent more time focusing on the speakers working than the anti-tangling process. Also due to setbacks of our prototype we did not come close to the full potential of this product. Overall i enjoyed my time working on the project, but next time i would try to have a better sense of time constraints as well as being more realistic with the idea of the final product.
2.)Dryden Brous Reflection- I enjoyed working on this project with both of my team members. Both of them were diligent in there work and always did there share of the load. We faced many major problems through out the process. Problems that made us have to rethink things. One major set back was when our headphones we were done wiring got ruined and were unable to use them for the project. And then when we finished our sleeve made out of the silicone rubber, while drying, got thrown away due to bomb threats. But us as a team busted out another prototype in a week. We were so glad to get that done. It was such a relief to finally finish this project. One thing that we could have been more cautious about was time constraints. We should have gotten some things done earlier than we did, but in the long run, it all worked out. In the future, our prototype should be thinner, less bulky, and more aesthetically pleasing.
3.)Jacob Darlington Reflection- This project was the culmination of all for years in engineering. I believe I used most of what I had learned here effectively when producing this project. This project was the best and worst project I have ever completed. Throughout this project we had to deal with hard deadlines, obstacles, and differing ideas between partners. Because of our group dynamic and our knowledge we finally succeeded in literally the last 24 hours before the presentation. If I had to do it over again, I would definitely protect our project better due to the fact that it was trashed twice in the middle of production. other than that, I wouldn't change a thing, I had great partners, a supporting mentor, and a great time.
